HISTORY

Fresh out of college, Neal Smith embarked on his professional journey with Mitsubishi Electric, contributing to both the Mitsubishi EDM/Laser and Mitsubishi Electric Automation divisions. This experience enriched his understanding of the Machine Tool and Industrial Automation industries. In 2005, Neal sought new horizons, relocating from the bustling Chicago area to settle in the vibrant Indianapolis region. It was here that Neal stepped into the realm of sales, joining Dart Controls in Zionsville, IN, as a Regional Sales Manager. Over an enriching six-year tenure, Neal honed his sales acumen and managerial skills, overseeing the Western half of the US and coordinating with several representative firms.

In 2011, fueled by a wealth of industry knowledge and a pioneering spirit, Neal founded Smith Automation. Starting with just three principal product lines, Smith Automation has since flourished, expanding its portfolio and fostering deep-rooted relationships with a growing customer base.
